GOLFTEC’s Jon Levy and Nick Clearwater show you Tiger’s famed shot, perfect for the windy conditions we’ll see at The 2017 Open Championship this week at Royal Birkdale.

The Open Championship will be held at Royal Birkdale for the tenth time this Thursday, and we’re here with a links style drill to help emulate a shot that promises to be seen all weekend long. The Open is often synonymous with blistering winds and low-flighted shots that allow the pros to maneuver some of the toughest major championship layouts in the world, let alone Great Britain. Now, we all remember Tiger’s magnificent low stingers, used in all sorts of pressure situations— so how can you duplicate the shot the best on the planet will utilize this weekend at The Open? It’s actually quite simple:

  • Move the ball back in your stance no further than one golf ball
  • Abbreviate the follow-through and extend your hands as far away from the body as possible

Nick Clearwater explains in more detail below so be sure to watch the video!
