Add More Tee Shot Power to Your Game

It doesn’t matter if you’re big or small, short or tall, young or old— these tips will add more power to everyone’s game.

By now you’ve probably seen Dustin Johnson’s mammoth tee shot from his Northern Trust playoff victory last Sunday over Jordan Spieth. It’s no secret that added length can greatly improve any player’s golf game, and during the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs it was on wide display. While the 18th hole at Glen Oaks has come under intense TOUR player scrutiny for its layout, DJ took full advantage of his prodigious power off the tee— Johnson’s approach shot measured just 94 yards after his drive while Spieth had to attack the tucked 18th pin with a 6-iron. Regardless of any player’s strengths and weaknesses, it’s safe to say we can all agree that if asked to hit an approach shot worth nearly $700,000 we’d take the flip-wedge over the mid-iron any day.

So how can you add more distance to your tee shots? It’s a question golfers of all ages, sizes, and skill levels ask every day on the range. Our friends at Colorado-based GOLFTEC are the best in the business as making players longer, more accurate, and more consistent— so let’s see what Jon Levy and former long drive competitor Brad Skupaka have to say. Brad is GOLFTEC’s Director of Teaching Quality, based in Centennial, Colorado, and has hit a drive 423 yards in competition.

Keep that back leg straightened, turn your hips even more, and let it rip!
