Denver, CO: University of Virginia graduate Lauren Coughlin of Charlottesville, VA started the day five strokes back but posted a sizzling 5-under par 67 to win by one at the $75,000 CoBank Colorado Women’s Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. Coughlin made just one birdie on the front nine but made four within five holes on the back to leap into first and parred the final two holes to secure her win and the $11,000 first place check.

In a tie for 2nd at 10-under 206 was second round leader Jennifer Hahn of Henderson, NV and 2012 champion Joy Trotter of Chino Hills, CA. Trotter held the lead by two until a costly bogey-double bogey combo on 15 and 16 cost her the lead. A birdie on the final hole got her to within a stroke of Coughlin. Hahn’s 1-over 73 for the day cost her the second round lead but her birdie on the final hole put her into a tie with Trotter.

In the low amateur competition University of Denver student Jessica Dreesbeimdieke of Juno Beach, FL posted her second consecutive under-par score (1-under 71) to win by 11 strokes over her nearest competitor.

In the pro-am competition Team Ferris State consisting of professional Elena Robles of Redondo Beach, CA and Jay Small of Aurora, CO shot a record-tying 26-under par 190 to win by two strokes over three teams. Robles won $2,800 for the victory and Small became the first two-time champion of the event.
