Don’t miss your last chance to compete at the original City Park Golf Course.

As reported, the 105-year-old Tom Bendelow layout will close in November for 18 months while 138 acres are converted into a stormwater detention area that will temporarily hold and slow floodwaters during major storms.

The course will reopen mid-2019 with a completely new routing and design.

This means that June 17th & 18th will be the last Denver City Amateur Championship played on the small sloping greens, tight fairways and unique bunkering of the city’s first municipal course.

The two-day annual event will feature a field of the top men’s amateur and senior amateur players from Denver and the surrounding areas. Each division will have a number of flights, based on verifiable handicap level.

The Championship flight is for players with a handicap index below 2.4.Those with higher indexes will be flighted accordingly. The number of players, flights and handicap indexes in each flight may vary depending on the number of participants. Prizes are awarded for the top gross finishers in each flight.

You do not have to be a Denver resident to play.

The Denver City Amateur is the longest running amateur event in Denver.

Entry fees for the two-day event are $150 per player, plus $30 for two-day cart rental.
