Kupcho Comes to Inspire Kids at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club

Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champ to Appear June 29

by Jon Rizzi

At the age of 22, Westminster’s Jennifer Kupcho has already accomplished more than most players do in their lifetimes.

After dominating Colorado junior and women’s golf, she went on to win nine college tournaments at Wake Forest University, including the 2018 NCAA DI Women’s Golf Individual Championship. She was a member of the winning teams in the 2018 Curtis Cup, Palmer Cup and World Amateur Team Championships. And she qualified for the LPGA Tour by 27 strokes.

In April she won the Inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur, and one month later, she led her Wake Forest University team to its first appearance in the NCAA Championship final.

Since turning professional in May, she has made the cut in all three events, including the U.S. Women’s Open.

This November, the Colorado Golf Association will honor her with its inaugural Hale Irwin Medal.

On June 29, Kupcho, who has earned low-amateur honors in two CoBank Colorado Women’s Opens—will honor her home state with an hour-long exhibition exclusively for kids and their accompanying adults. Hosted by The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch and sponsored by CoBank—the title sponsor for the three Colorado Open Championships—the free event will begin at 11 a.m. Attendees must register here or call 303-486-8827.

CoBank has sponsored these junior exhibitions ever since becoming the title sponsor in 2016. Last year brought a visit from Matt Kuchar. Previous exhibitors have included David Duval, Lexi ThompsonMark O’Meara, Hale Irwin, Ryan Palmer and Paula Creamer.

An autograph session (kids only) will follow the exhibition. Kids can play GVR’s par-3 course after the festivities.
