A Samsung Electronics spin-off company, Salted Venture, has announced today the launch of IOFIT Smart Shoes, the world’s first smart golf shoes.

Paired with a compatible mobile smartphone app, IOFIT provides golfers with the digital tools to understand their swing balance and ultimately maximize the swing performance. The shoes include features that will allow golfers to not only track and analyze their swings but also to compare and match their swings with those of pro-golfers based on actionable feedback provided through its smartphone app.

Developed over the last two years, the IOFIT Smart Shoes use sensors embedded in the soles to track and analyze user’s weight transfer and balance, the most fundamental but under-performed aspects in golf swing.

Through Bluetooth, the shoes sync with its mobile app, IOFIT Golf, which is available in both iOS and Android either on smartphone or tablet. The collected information is transmitted in real-time to the app to provide instant feedback including foot pressure distribution, center of pressure, left/right balance, front/back balance and personalized coaching for improvement.

In addition, users can download swing data of PGA and LPGA players and compare their swing data to receive instant and actionable feedback from its mobile app. IOFIT Golf also supports sharing function where users can share their swing performance and progress via SNS or email with their golf coaches or friends.
