Golf in Summer Should be No Sweat with Galvin Green

If you have a wardrobe full of dark, thick-weave collared T-shirts and heavy khakis or baggy cargo shorts, you probably feel pretty uncomfortable playing golf in the summer heat. You might sweat excessively, and by the time you walk in off the 18^th green you’re ready for a nap.

You need a new wardrobe, one that takes advantage of modern fabrics that are both light and incredibly breathable, allowing your sweat to pass through to the outside and keeping you cool and dry.

One negative of these materials in the past was that they tended to make you look like the golfer from the far-off future – a neon-draped alien that stood out far more than you wanted it to. The neon look is still out there certainly, but there are also far more sober garments available today.

“Not really,” says Stephen Hendren, President of Galvin Green USA. “Gore-Tex is designed to keep you dry when the moisture (rain) comes from the outside,” he says. “Gore-Tex uses a microporous membrane to keep water out, and at the same time is still breathable by letting moisture and sweat on the inside out. Ventil8 Plus is designed to be extremely breathable and move moisture (sweat) quickly from inside to outside. The Ventil8 fibers do not absorb moisture like cotton fibers will, instead they quickly spread the moisture over a bigger surface to make the shirt dry extremely quickly and make the wearer stay dry and comfortable.”

Each item in the new Galvin Green Ventil8 Plus Spring/Summer catalogue is constructed with highly technical, lightweight and breathable materials to help regulate body temperature and transport moisture and heat away from the skin twice as fast as a traditional polyester golf shirt.

Highlighting the men’s range is the Mayer with horizontal stripe design and the Marty solid shirt available in eight colorways and an exclusive Tour Edition. Also available are the all-purpose Noah and Nash pants and Parker shorts.

For the ladies, the highlights of the collection may well be the Megan shirt with contrast color detailing, the May skort and the head-turning Miriam jumpsuit, a lightweight piece with extreme breathability designed to minimize restriction when swinging.
