Creating an Exceptional Experience

MAKE A SPLASH: A 35-acre lake, beach activities, tennis courts and more complement a Dye-designed golf course at Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

Golf resorts have benefited greatly from the “destination wedding” trend. Creating an environment worthy of the most important day in a couple’s life—a place they can forever call “theirs”—provides them and their guests with unforgettable memories and the unquenchable desire to return.

The same applies to any event, really. Whether it’s a corporate retreat, family reunion, business conference, team-building event, golf tournament or any combination of the above, attendees always crave a unique and memorable sense of place.

Resorts hold the keys to unlock this elemental need. And some of the best destination resorts are right here in Colorado. At Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, we know how to generate exceptional experiences from any event, delivering the quintessential Colorado adventure just a 75-minute drive from most points along the Front Range.

Cheyenne Mountain Resort Pools and Spa

Set at the foot of iconic Cheyenne Mountain, Cheyenne Mountain Resort puts you in the heart of the glorious Pikes Peak region. Our locally inspired cuisine and carefully curated indigenous activities create a distinctive environment at a location that’s equal parts world-class meeting facility, four-diamond resort and the region’s premier family country club. Toss in our versatile selection of spectacular indoor and outdoor venues, diverse recreational amenities—from onsite spa, tennis, beach volleyball and boating to nearby rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, zip-lining, rock climbing and more—and you have all the ingredients for a classic Colorado experience.

Golf plays a pivotal role in that experience. Designed in 1973 by Pete Dye, the Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort ranks as the proflific course architect’s first layout west of the Mississippi River.

It stretches to 7,055 yards, with the lake coming into play on five back-nine holes—including the stunning par-3 17th and challenging par-5 18th. More than 50 bunkers lurk, with many of them enhanced—along with tees, fairways and greens—during a $4-million Rick Phelps renovation in 2012.

As a guest of the resort, you effectively become member for a day at the club. And whether you are planning a leadership retreat, a gathering of groomsmen, a family reunion or a charity event for 120, Cheyenne Mountain Resort provides an unparalleled variety of event space options and endless opportunities to weave a round (or two) of golf into your off-site agenda.

Alluvia Spa & Wellness Retreat
Pamper, Pump, Play: The impressively renovated Spa and Fitness building houses the new Alluvia Spa & Wellness Retreat, with six treatment rooms and nail salon, as well as a 9,000-square-foot fitness center. Get in your strokes on 17 indoor/outdoor tennis courts and five heated indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR EVENT

Golf outings and tournaments rate among the most popular additions to our conferences and meetings. Besides aiming for fun and camaraderie, organizations put on golf events to support charitable fundraising, promote team-building, entertain clients and recognize customers and employees.

To distinguish your event both on and off the golf course, our event-planning specialists and professional golf staff have the ability to customize every aspect of your experience—from theme to cuisine to outside-the-box activities, including canoe building and a post-tournament barbecue and beach bonfire on the resort’s 35-acre private lake.

Don’t have time for a scramble tournament? Allow the Cheyenne Mountain Resort team to customize a golf skills challenge— driving, chipping, and putting contests complete with event scoring—to meet your time allotment as well as the skill set of the group.

TAKE A SHOT IN THE DARK

And for something completely different, engage your group in some Glow Golf. This setup lets you enjoy golf like you’ve never enjoyed it before—under the twinkling starlight of the vast Rocky Mountain night sky.

We line three holes with glow sticks, light up the pins and give each player glow-in-the-dark golf balls. Glow sticks illuminate the course and the carts, and players can wear luminescent bracelets and t-shirts. Phosphorescent putting and chipping contests add to the fun and fraternity, as do the adult beverages and gourmet s’mores by the fire pit.

It’s just another reason to make Cheyenne Mountain Resort your next group or meeting destination.
