Colorado’s 27 Funnest Holes

Colorado’s 27 Funnest Holes

Sick of getting beat up by lists of the “toughest” holes? So are we.

Golf is a game—and games are supposed to be fun. To narrow a list of the funnest—yes, Merriam-Webster approves—golf holes from the roughly 4,208 in the state of Colorado, we put the question to our Facebook followers and numerous other avid golfers.

We quickly found that one golfer’s fun is another’s frustration. A “fun” hole is challenging, quirky, memorable, distinctive—a hole you look forward to playing, not one you dread.

Of course, “fun” is arbitrary and subjective, and so, perforce, are these selections.

  • Castle Pines Golf Club, Castle Pines

    442 Yards Par 4

Eagles and birdies may have soared on 17 during the days of The International, but
18 is the better and more fun hole—except that it means your round at this private club is over.

  • The Ridge at Castle Pines North, Castle Pines Village

    390 Yards Par 4

Play it from the tips, where you can peek at the group behind putting on 17. Then bomb it over the Gambel Oak and boulders to the uphill fairway and finish strong.
