The Club at Ravenna Makes First Big Announcement of 2015

George Kahrhoff leaves The Country Club at Castle Pines to join The Club at Ravenna as Director of Golf Operations

Less than two weeks into the year, The Club at Ravenna is already making news.

The gated community situated among the protected Pike National Forest and the red rock outcroppings of the Dakota Hogback announced that George Kahrhoff—the Colorado PGA’s current Vic Kline Award winner and the 2012 National PGA Merchandiser of the Year—has joined the club as the PGA Director of Golf Operations.

Kahrhoff left The Country Club at Castle Pines, where he’d worked as the head golf professional since 2008, following six years running the show at Sonnenalp Golf Club in Edwards. He started his Colorado career as an assistant pro at Cherry Hills Country Club.

“Our focus is on building the right team at Ravenna to create the most stunning lifestyle experiences for our community,” says General Manager, Stan Spraul. “We are invested in what living at Ravenna is all about – world-class golf, serene views and a rewarding, comfortable lifestyle. Bringing George Kahrhoff on board adds a level of professionalism to our operation. He’s a local guy, highly respected and we are excited for what’s to come.”

The appointment represents a coup for Ravenna, and one of several changes in 2015, including two new builders in Remington Homes and Thomas Sattler Homes, and the addition of quality events, programs and staff under the leadership of Managing Partner, Kevin Collins and Managing Director and Listing Broker, Dale Schossow.

“It’s a new year and fresh start,” said Schossow of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. “We are thrilled to see talent like George join our team, we have renewed excitement and activity and a strong commitment from the managing partner to make 2015 our best year yet.”

Schossow, who has sold over 145 homesites at Ravenna, dozens of custom homes over a 35-year career, and built and maintained long-lasting partnerships with the builders of Ravenna.

In addition to the Managing Director responsibilities, he was recently named among the luxury firm’s Top 25 Producers. This comes off the tail of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty’s (formerly Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty) rebranding strategy and name change to emphasize action, living and lifestyle.

A formal ground breaking of Thomas Sattler Homes will take place in early 2015. Remington Homes has already broken ground on their model with homes available starting from the low $700,000’s.

In addition, reports say members are thrilled about the fairly significant overhaul the course has recently undergone to improve playability.

Kahrhoff, whom Collins calls “another first-rate addition to our existing talented staff,” says he’s “extremely excited to be at The Club at Ravenna and happy to work with a great leadership team to help the club achieve the goal of becoming one of the finest clubs in the state of Colorado.”

Kahrhoff’s departure marks the second major personnel change to take place at The Country Club at Castle Pines within the last month. In December, Chief Operating Officer John Reyhons announced he would be leaving to take the same position at the Stock Farm Club in Hamilton, Montana. No replacements have been named.
