Big Announcements from Deer Creek and Plum Creek

Change is in the mile-high air for residents of Denver, CO and the surrounding area.

Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the largest owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts in the U.S. – is now operating Plum Creek Golf & Country Club in Castle Rock (pictured above) and Deer Creek Golf Club in Littleton.

With more than 150 properties in 28 states under the management-company’s watchful eye, BCG will turnkey all facets of the two Denver-area layouts.  This includes course and property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse activities, merchandising, golf instruction, marketing and public relations, special events and financial management.

“Billy Casper Golf is very proud to manage Plum Creek Golf and Country Club and Deer Creek Golf Club,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “We are committed to invigorate golf and social experiences at both properties by consistently providing pristine playing conditions and excellent golf programming.”

BCG is already returning Plum Creek and Deer Creek to “must-play” status.  Both courses are showing significant improvements, and guests who have returned are praising the progress achieved in a short period of time.

Along with a new approach to management and enhanced guest experiences, BCG has introduced memberships to Plum Creek and Deer Creek. Available at each course for individuals, couples, seniors and families (up to four people), the “Gold Rush” membership offers unlimited golf with cart all week long while the “Weekday” membership is good Monday through Friday.  Guests are also opting for the Advantage Card for $99 that includes one free round of golf with a cart at Plum Creek, greensfee discounts, 10-day advance tee time reservations and early twilight rates.

Plum Creek was designed by legendary architect Pete Dye and opened in 1984. The 7,107-yard, par-72 course sprawls over hilly terrain and provides spectacular views of the nearby mountains. The former TPC layout and PGA Champions Tour event host features dramatic elevation changes and railroad ties surrounding the greens – a signature of Dye’s designs. Five sets of tees give every golfer the chance to play from their ideal yardage while still enjoying all the course has to offer.

Deer Creek is a links-style layout spread around 40 acres of natural wetlands and is located 30 minutes southwest of Denver. The 6,998-yard, par-72 layout set against the rugged mountain terrain of Dakota Hogback features considerable mounding, elevated greens and well-placed bunkers. The Scott Miller design offers four sets of tees to accommodate all playing abilities.

On Monday, August 11 Plum Creek and Deer Creek will join more than 120 BCG-managed golf courses in hosting the fourth annual World’s Largest Golf Outing. Since its inception in 2011, the simultaneous golf outing played from coast to coast has donated more than $1.1 million for Wounded Warrior Project.

The four-person, team scramble is open to all golfers regardless of ability. Entry fee includes a $10 donation to Wounded Warrior Project and players are encouraged to raise additional funds to help support wounded service men and women. The team that raises the most money for Wounded Warrior Project will win a trip for four to Pinehurst Resort to play the famous No. 2 golf course and stay at the iconic Carolina Hotel.

All players are eligible to win a trip for four to the Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR, for custom club-fitting and other merchandise. The team with the lowest score from each course will be entered into a drawing for tickets to the 2015 PGA Championship; other prizes include equipment and apparel from leading golf brands.

Last year, BCG hosted more than 10,000 golfers, including 70 wounded warriors, at 110 courses and raised $735,000, topping the 2012 event that totaled 7,800 golfers and $400,000 to Wounded Warrior Project. With nearly $100,000 raised so far, BCG predicts another record-breaking year.
