Bandon Dunes: Golf as It Was Meant to Be

Hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since Bandon Dunes Golf Resort was introduced to the golfing public. All those years ago, Mike Keiser set out to find a property on which he could build a golf course true to the spirit of Scotland’s ancient links. Two decades, numerous accolades, and five courses later, the golf resort tops the bucket list of golfers from around the world.

Rugged, wind-swept, and set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, it is hard to imagine another stretch of oceanfront land that comes close to the breathtaking beauty and inspired layouts of Bandon Dunes.

Having hosted five USGA championships so far, and with two more on the horizon, including this year’s U.S. Amateur Four Ball, Bandon Dunes has quickly become a storied national championship venue, where the world’s top amateurs come in search of making history. The 2019 U.S. Amateur Four Ball will be contested on Old Macdonald and Pacific Dunes. Next year, Bandon Dunes will join an exclusive club in hosting the 2020 United States Amateur, the oldest championship in the nation. The prestigious championship will challenge the top amateur golfers in the world on Bandon Trails and Bandon Dunes.

There may be no better place for a true bonding experience or to reward a junior golfer for the hard work they have put in, than a trip to Bandon Dunes. Their Junior Bandonistas program was created to forge memories that will last a lifetime. From Mother’s Day Weekend through July 31, a parent can treat their young golfer, 22 years of age and younger, to a free round on any of Bandon Dunes’ golf courses after 10 a.m., so long as that parent is playing along with the Junior Bandonista.

A great part of the allure of Bandon Dunes is its relative seclusion, but there are plenty of great options for getting there. Daily non-stop flights from Denver and San Francisco to Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) get you within a 35-minute drive to the resort. If you don’t mind a longer drive from the airport, there are multiple flight options to North Bend, Eugene, and Medford, Oregon.

To book your trip to Bandon Dunes, call (888) 567-2359 or visit BandonDunesGolf.com and one of their representatives will take care of all the details.
