After a record-setting round in the fourth and final qualifier Monday at Westminster’s Legacy Ridge Golf Course, the field is set for the $250,000 CoBank Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver.

Andrew Presley of Ft. Worth set a Legacy Ridge tournament record with a spectacular 9-under par 63 with seven birdies and an eagle dotting his card. William Kropp of Edmond, Oklahoma posted an outstanding 7-under par score of 65.

Those two and 12 others now complete the 156-player field for the 52nd CoBank Colorado Open Championship, which will be contested at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver July 21-24.

The $250,000 purse, first place prize of $100,000 and the reputation as the best state open in the country has attracted a bevy of talented players with PGA Tour and other professional experience.

Headlining the group is local favorite and worldwide multiple winner Kevin Stadler. The oldest son of Masters champion Craig Stadler grew up in Denver before playing collegiate golf at his father’s alma mater, the University of Southern California. He won his first professional event at the Colorado Open in 2002.

Another past champion and two-time PGA Tour winner is 1996 Colorado Open champion Jonathan Kaye. Two other players in the field, Keith Clearwater and Parker McLachlin, have three PGA Tour victories between them—including the 1987 Colonial (Clearwater).

In all, nine past champions, seven past low amateur champions and two 2016 U.S. Open contestants (Andy Pope from Chicago, Aron Price of Sydney, AUS) highlight the field.

And there’s more: the first female (Sherry Andonian Smith of Denver) will compete, as will two sets of brothers (Zahkai and Zen Brown, Michael and Beau Schoolcraft) and the father-son combo of Doug and Tristan Rohrbaugh of Carbondale, CO.
