Setup for Impact

Golf impact tips Golf impact tips

Many golfers think that the setup position and impact position are the same but they are much different. The biggest difference between the two positions is the lower body.

At address the hips (belt buckle) are pointed at the ball and the weight is 50/50 on each foot.

At impact the hips (belt buckle) are turned or pointed more towards your target and the weight has shifted towards your front foot.

Think of your lower body starting your downswing. As you shift your weight forward, turn your belt buckle not just back to the ball but all the way back to your target.
