Denver, CO--The Colorado Open Golf Foundation is proud to announce that it has received a $40,000 Daniels Fund grant to support The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch.

The First Tee is a youth development program that positively impacts the lives of young people by providing programming and facilities that promote character development and life enhancing values through the game of golf. Teaching of these life skills and The First Tee Nine Core Values™ (Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Courtesy, Judgment and Perseverance) allows kids to accomplish their dreams, thrive socially, excel academically and athletically, and become productive members of their families and society with integrity, strong values and commitment to community.

“The grant will enable our staff and volunteer mentors to successfully execute our curriculum which reached nearly 1,400 children in 2009,” said Board of Trustees Chairman Allen Walters. “Gifts like these from the Daniels Fund and many other generous individuals and corporations are appreciated now more than ever in these difficult economic times.”
