Denver– Freshman golfer Kimberly Kim (Pahoa, Hawaii) has been selected to the 2010 Curtis Cup Team representing the USA this June. This is Kim's second appearance on the Curtis Cup Team and is the only remaining player from the victorious 2008 squad in Scotland.
"I'm thrilled for Kim to be selected to her second Curits Cup representing the USA," said an enthused Sammie Chergo, DU Women's Head Coach. "This is one of the highest awards a female amateur can receive. Playing for your country is an honor, and I know that Kim will bring both experience and enthusiasm to the US team."
Km, who leads the DU women's golf team with a 73.65 scoring average, won the 2006 US Women's Amatuer at age 14, to become the youngest winner in the championship's history. She was also a finalist at the WAPL and Girls' Junior last summer.
The Curtis Cup Match, contested biennially, features eight female amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland and eight players who represent the USA. The Match consists of three foursomes (alternate-shot) and three four-ball (better-ball) matches on the first two days. On the final all eight players from either side play in singles matches.
