Str8 or workable?

Interesting question….. Can’t speak for others, but I play with a set of Louisville Golf irons that are somewhere in between two. They are somewhat forgiving but allow for working the ball as well. I don’t think most people actually care that much about working the ball, to be honest, other than having to when they are behind a tree, etc. Lost art form. I actually play with hickory shafted clubs as well, which definitely put the emphasis on shotmaking. No forgiving in them. When you miss a shot, you miss it. But when you hit a good solid shot with them, there’s nothing like it…..

Cool. I’ve never hit anything other than the modern stuff but I have heard that the golf of today is robotic compared with the creativity and real shotmaking of days gone by. I was asking because I like the idea of being able to do whatever I want with the ball. Being able to hold the ball into a strong crosswind is my idea of coping with the elements.

If you so enjoy being able to work the ball and normally play the MB’s, why would you even change, if you don’t mind me asking…....I think that’s exactly what all these big equipment giants want you to do, think about changing every year.
I just recently got a set of the TaylorMade r7 TP’s. Now I normally play with the TP MB. The new clubs feel decent but for some reason I have a devil of a time working them. Here’s the question: Do you like irons that are very forgiving or very workable?
