Newsletter

It is time for the next Golf-Health newsletter. After a hiatus, in which I have concentrated on opening an Indoor Golf Teaching facility, I am hereby getting back to offering healthy and helpful hints to all of us golfers out there. Most of this info is not about some new swing philosophy or club-position. It is all about getting you, the player, to understand that there are many other things besides buying a new club that can improve your game. And even if these concepts don’t immediately lower your score, you will feel better about your game!! The purpose of this bi-monthly issues is to supply you with information and a fresh perspective on how you think about your game and the way you approach it. Right along that line of thinking is Izzo Golf ‘s new corporate marketing slogan:

Clubs are better. Balls are better. There is only one thing left to improve: YOU

That is exactly why "Golf-Health" and my new Indoor Facility exist: Nothing will improve your game faster than improving your body!! It’s as simple as that. Over the last year, we have assessed and video’d over 600 golfers at "Level Fore". It has been an amazing journey to be able to capture their improvements and to document their excitement. Getting this info out to the public is my mission. I am going to he holding a series of Golf-Health Schools around the country, starting early next year! The first of these schools will be held at the prestigious Kiawah Island Resort.

It doesn’t get any better than that. You can sign up for this retreat online with at the above link!

I recently came across an interesting statistic: none of the PGA-tour players leading in driving distance during a tournament won a tournament! In fact, only five placed under the first ten in all of the 18 counted events. What it means: Driving the ball long does not translate into lower scores! All the attention given to long drives is pretty much meaningless as it relates to becoming a better golfer. With most of the strokes coming out of the short game, it becomes clear that lowering the score is easiest accomplished by improving your putting!

John Daly noticed after watching a video that his putter in the past was longer and more upright than the one he was using currently. He added an inch and 5 degrees to the lie angle. He promptly finished second at the Shell Houston Open! What it means: properly fitted clubs will help your game! Not only is it important for your driver to be fitted, but every club in your bag should be checked, including your putter!

Keep aiming for the flag!!
