Charles W. Harrison

Birth-date: June 25, 1931 in Decatur, Georgia.

Education: Valedictorian Marist High School, graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Management

Sports: football and basketball in high school, swimming and golf in college

First experience with golf: playing with his father in 1944 with hickory-shafted clubs

Occupation: worked with Adair Realty and Loan Company and Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Co. for 37 years in insurance. Currently employed by East Lake Foundation and, with his wife Sylvia, founded Meadow Nook Properties, renovating houses in the East Lake area of Atlanta.

Favorite golf course: East Lake Golf Club

Favorite clubs: Callaway

Honors: Serves as a Director of Capitol City Bank and Trust Company which he helped found in 1993. Helped begin the East Lake Junior Golf Academy, which is now the first tee of East Lake and was honored with having the Harrison Scholarship Fund named after him. Scholarships given to young men and women to help with their college education.

Also serves as a board member of historic Oakland Cemetery. Charlie was inducted into the Marist sports Hall of Fame and was named as a Distinguished Alumni, inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame.
