Texan Wins U.S. Girls Sectional at Aurora's Valley CC

Aurora, CO – Sammi Stevens of Hereford, TX shot a 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday, June 30

at Valley Country Club to become the medalist for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Sectional

Qualifier and advance to the USGA national championship.

Also qualifying was Paige Spiranac of Monument, CO and Allie Johnson of Castle Rock,

CO who both shot a 1-over-par 73. Somin Lee of Denver, CO shot a 74 to also qualify.

A playoff was held for those players who tied for 5th with a score of 75 to determine the
alternate spots. Earning the first alternate spot is Loren Forney of Grand Junction, CO

while Jacqueline Chulya of Bangkok, Thailand earned the second alternate spot.
