Wang, Welch Win Inaugural CJGA 10 & Under Junior Series Championship

Boulder – Elizabeth Wang of Parker and Coby Welch of Highlands Ranch took home top honors in the inaugural CJGA 10 & Under Junior Series Championship held at Boulder Country Club.

Wang, an eight year old who attends Pine Lane Primary School, carded an impressive round of 66 taking top honors in the girls’ field.  Sydney Merchant of Morrison finished in second place shooting a round of 69 and Mary Weinstein of Highlands Ranch finished third with a score of 70.  

Welch, a ten year old who attends Fox Creek School, outdistanced the field carding a round of 62 to take home the title.  AJ Ott of Fort Collins took second place carding a round of 63 and Trevor Olkowski of Fruita finished in third with a round of 64.

The CJGA Junior Series Championship was created as a season ending event where the top 20 boys and top 10 girls off of the CJGA Points List compete for the title of the best player in the CJGA.
