Colorado Open Qualifying Results

Eagle, CO–Chase Cooper of Guymon, Oklahoma was in the first group of the Colorado Open Qualifying Round at Eagle Ranch Golf Course and held the lead from start to finish.  After bogeying two of the first three holes, Cooper carded birdies on the 6th, 12th, 14th and 15th holes to finish with a two under par round of 70.  Nine additional players finished with scores of 74 or less to secure their position in the Championship.  A playoff was needed to determine the alternate spots which lasted three holes. Mike Troyer secured the 2nd overall alternate spot for the Championship.

Today’s round was the second of four qualifying rounds for the 2008 HealthONE Colorado Open which will be held at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club on July 24-27.  The remaining qualifying rounds are:  July 17 and July 21 at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster. A total of 62 players will advance into the Championship with 10 determined today.  Eight total players will be placed on the alternate list and the 2nd and 6th spots overall were determined today.
