Troyer Hired as CommonGround Director of Golf
AURORA, COLORADO – The Colorado Golf Association and the Colorado Women’s Golf Association recently announced that David Troyer has been hired to manage the golf operations for the associations' new golf facility, CommonGround Golf Course. Troyer, a Colorado native and former University of Colorado golfer, is returning home after spending the last four years in Minnesota managing The Jewel Golf Club, a Hale Irwin signature design. Prior to managing the Jewel, Troyer spent time as the Director of Golf at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa, and he was the opening Head Golf Professional at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, CO.
“We are excited to have Dave on board. He brings a wealth of experience, a great attitude, and thorough understanding of the vision that the CGA & the CWGA has for CommonGround,” said Ed Mate, the Executive Director for the Colorado Golf Association.
Troyer will work alongside Tracy Richard, CommonGround’s Director of Agronomy, to not only make CommonGround one of the premier courses in the state that everyone can enjoy, but they will also be committed to making it a facility dedicated to teaching all the positive life lessons that golf has to offer to juniors and adults alike.
“I’m honored to be part of such a wonderful project,” said Troyer. “Tom Doak and Renaissance Design have created a spectacular golf course, and the mission of the state golf associations will make CommonGround a very special and unique addition to golf in Colorado.”
Construction of CommonGround Golf Course is on schedule, and is slated to open in the spring of 2009. For updates and pictures, please visit www.cogolf.org.
